True Poker

True Poker was founded by people who have a great deal of experience both as poker players and also in computer technology. They formed a Costa Rican corporation to create, launch and manage the True Poker room, and that same company is still working hard to this day to realise its vision of providing a popular online poker room.

You begin by downloading the True Poker software, and then set up your account using registration wizard. The wizard really is deserving of the label, and makes registering extremely simple, straightforward and conveniently speedy. At True Poker you are represented by one of fifteen colourful characters, and you get to choose which one you want right at the start. Fancy yourself as a bit of a cowboy? Or maybe a secret agent? Both of these options are available, and more besides.

Your selected character is added to your profile and when that is done you can start playing. The poker tables here aren't the most visually impressive, and they take a while to load. This is a fairly small niggle, but one that we hope will be addressed in the not too distant future.

Tables at True Poker seat up to ten players, and you will be escorted to your particular table by a bartender, which is a nice touch. Clicking the mouse button when the cursor is on the dealer (who is on your left) will bring up a selection of useful statistics. Current play information for each of your opponents can be viewed by floating the cursor over their character. More detailed information is available by clicking the "Logs" button.

True Poker undoubtedly has a good concept, but it isn't the best online poker room by any means. If the concept were realised more effectively then True Poker could easily shift up through the rankings.

The minimum rake here is $1, and the maximum is $3.
