World Series of Poker Win Number Two for Brandon Cantu

UltimateBet’s Team UB star Brandon Cantu came so close to winning his second career World Series of Poker bracelet last week in event number 39, a No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em poker event where he was just squeezed into second place. But fortunately for Cantu, he did not have to wait long to redeem himself by winning World Series of Poker bracelet number two.
Cantu played in the $1.500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better, event number 48 at the World Series of Poker in search of that elusive second win. The first day gave no worry to Cantu and during day two he played some brilliant poker with a good run of cards which he used aggressively, forcing him into a strong position with a large chip stack by the end. By the time he was entering the final poker table on day three Cantu had over twice as many chips than anybody else left in the competition. Pressure came from Lee Watkinson who is a proud winner of his very own WSOP bracelet from 2006. By the time that Brandon Cantu and Lee Watkinson were heads-up, Watkinson had the lead. He actually had a 5:1 chip lead at one point but the UltimateBet sponsored poker pro, Cantu battled back to emerge as the winner. As well as winning World Series of Poker bracelet number two Cantu also takes home the $228,867 1st prize money.
Following the World Series of Poker Win Number Two for Brandon Cantu he said "This is really special, especially because I should have won a week ago. That loss was really hard for me to take. This one really was special."
