World Series of Poker November Nine
In less than one week the valiant poker players return to do battle in the World Series of Poker November Nine final table. The nine poker contenders who have made it this far have already received a cheque for $1.2 million but the race is now on to find the world champion of the greatest card game on earth.

Over the years the WSOP has thrown up some surprising results. For example, the poker world gasped in amazement as Chris Moneymaker, an online poker qualifier at PokerStars, stole the show and walked away with the coveted WSOP main event bracelet. But what has this year’s final table got in store for us?
The final table chip stacks are as follows:
- Darvin Moon – 58,930,000
- Eric Buchman – 34,800,000
- Steven Begleiter – 29,890,000
- Jeff Shulman – 19,580,000
- Joe Cada – 13,220,000
- Kevin Schaffel – 12,390,000
- Phil Ivey – 9,770,000
- Antoine Saout – 9,500,000
- James Akenhead – 6,800,000
Darvin Moon has a huge chip stack going into the final table and should certainly continue in the tournament for a while. Even if he was to get caught bluffing and put the 2nd place chip stack all-an and lost he would still be in 3rd place with plenty of chips to keep him going.
At the other end of the scale is UK poker player, James Akenhead. With only a handful of chips to his name Akenhead is down but not out. However if he is to progress in this year’s World Series of Poker main event he will need to make a move and make it fast.
Phil Ivey is a name who cannot be ignored. Even with his relatively small chip stack you can never underestimate the poker player then many observers believe to be the best in the world.
Who will win this year’s WSOP main event? No one knows. But the wait is almost over. Play resumes 5pm(UK) Saturday night, so the wait to find out who will be crowned poker world champion for 2009 is almost over.
