Team PokerStars Pro Big Name Signings

As competition hots up for sponsored pro poker teams to sign bigger name players to take part in the world’s largest poker competitions, the world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars has announced the two new Team PokerStars Pro big name signings of Jason Mercier and Marcel Lüske to add to their already impressive line-up.

The two new recruits to PokerStars’ team, Jason Mercier and Marcel Lüske will join forces with huge names in world poker such as Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, Barry Greenstein and Peter Eastgate, making Team PokerStars Pro even stronger than ever.

Jason Mercier is a self-taught poker pro from the US.  The former high school basketball coach was studying to be a maths teacher and playing poker games with his mates when he discovered online poker.  Mercier had many impressive wins at the online card table and quickly became a VIP at PokerStars earning the status of SuperNova Elite for his level and quality of play.  In Mercier’s short time in the poker spotlight he has accrued an enormous $3.2 million in cashes since his first major poker tournament only back in 2008, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Marcel Lüske, also known as “The Flying Dutchman” is one of the best dressed players found at the poker table.  He always makes an effort to look the gentleman that he is.  Lüske founded the Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA), which is an independent, international, governing body for poker and also a recognised leader in the development and promotion of poker worldwide.  With over $3,700,000 just from live tournaments to his name, Marcel Lüske will also be a major signing for Team PokerStars Pro.

These two Team PokerStars Pro big name signings come just six days after we here at UK Poker broke the announcement of the new Party Poker Pro Team.  With all of these online poker sites snapping up these big name poker pros, there are sure to be even bigger, higher-profile live poker events for all of us to enjoy.
