Keeping poker legal in pubs
UK legislation states that playing poker in pubs is completely legal as long as stakes are kept below £5 a head per day and £100 per premises per day. There are many legitimate poker leagues, that offer different game variations, throughout Britain who do adhere to the law and still offering a fun and exciting way to enjoy playing poker. However there is evidence that a significant number of establishments are breaching these laws so the leaflet has been produced to reiterate the legal facts and also to highlight the penalties that landlords may face if prosecuted.
