F1 legend signs for Team Party Poker

Party Poker has announced that Formula 1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella is to join the ranks at Team Party Poker.  The F1 legend has signed for Team Party Poker after an impressive display in the Sports Stars Challenge, joining the likes of UK poker player Ian Frazer, poker icon Mike Sexton, Remy Biechel of France and Felipe Ramos of Brazil.

Fisichella is no stranger to high pressure situations after racing against the likes of Michael Schumacher, Jean Alesi, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa at grand prix circuits around the world.  Even though Fisichella is still racing in F1 he has found himself sending many hours in the paddocks playing poker with fellow drivers, engineers and mechanics while waiting to get onto the track.

Party Poker invited Fisichella to play at the Sports Stars Challenge IV in London earlier this year.  While playing in this sports celebrity poker tournament Fisichella caught the attention of the Party Poker powers that be and was promptly offered a sponsorship deal to represent them at live poker events around the world.
