English Poker Open won by David Le Ronde

The first major event in a very busy month for UK poker, the English Poker Open was won by David Le Ronde.  The inaugural English Poker Open title was contested by many well-known and high-profile poker professionals with the UK poker player, Le Ronde coming out on top to take the English Poker Open title and the £208,367 1st prize.

In its first showing, and serving as a warm-up event for the World Series of Poker Europe the English Poker Open did itself proud and will be viewed as a successful major international live poker event.  Held at the purpose Dusk Till Dawn poker room in Nottingham the English Poker Open had a world-class field of poker pros taking part.  These poker pros included; Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Annette Obrestad , Liv Boeree , James Akenhead, Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliot, Micheal Tureniec, Eric Liu and the eventual winner David Le Ronde.

Full Tilt Poker professional and UK poker player David La Ronde fought his way through a tough field to win the tournament and the accompanying £208,367 first prize, defeating Michael Tureniec heads-up to snatch the title.  This is La Ronde's biggest single win to date, surpassing previous biggest win for his second place finish in last month’s Grosvenor UK Poker Tour event in Luton.
