Anonymous Tables are Game Changers
The first reason is that being able to play online poker without other people recognising you allows you to leave whatever reputation you have at the door. This makes every game at an anonymous table a clean slate, and whether you are ordinarily recognised as a player who is so skilled that you should be avoided, or as a complete fish who has a habit of going on tilt whenever you lose a big hand (which would usually make you a big target for sharks), you will start every game as an unknown. If you’re a good player that gives you the chance to take advantage of lesser players, and if you aren’t yet that good it gives you the chance to command more respect – at least initially – than you might otherwise. The second reason why we describe the introduction of anonymous tables as a game-changing event is because it gives players the opportunity to develop their skills in complete anonymity. Whilst it is perfectly possible to use free-play and micro-stake tables to practice new approaches, the quality of play at those levels tends to leave something to be desired, and if you develop successful skills regardless then the shrewdest of your opponents will be quick to make a note of that fact. Anonymous tables allow you to try out new ideas without the risk of anyone making notes about you, be they positive or negative, and even poker tracker software will be unable to discover who you are. Apart from the aspect of anonymity itself, playing at anonymous tables is no different than playing at other tables. Simply visit the Ladbrokes Poker lobby, find the anonymous table that you want you play at (all anonymous tables are identified by the letter A) and then proceed as usual. Visit Ladbrokes Poker to give the new anonymous tables a try and good luck! 4th November 2010 Back to Poker News Article Last Updated: 04/11/2010 13:56:07 |
