It takes just a couple of minutes to download the Gaming Club Poker software, and when you launch it you will find yourself in the "lobby" where you can choose your games. You can play Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha H/L, 5 Card Draw, 5 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud, with ring games, Sit & Go tables and multi-table tourneys all available. The good news about the lobby is that finding a particular kind of game is a cinch, because it uses a hierarchy of folders to organise them, just as Windows Explorer uses folders to organise the contents of your hard drive. The bad news is that the lobby looks a lot like Windows Explorer, so it isn't the most impressive that we've seen from an aesthetic point of view. Fortunately, the gaming environment is much nicer to look at, and although it won't win any awards it is above average and certainly won't distract you from your game. In fact, the game (as opposed to knock-your-socks-off visuals) is what Gaming Club Poker is all about. That's why you get a range of tools to help you track your performance and analyse your game. Use these tools effectively and you should be able to identify any holes in your game and patch them up so that you can start winning more often. The Gaming Club Poker web site includes a good Poker School that will be of use to anyone who is new to poker or wants to learn a new variety of the game (for example, Hold'em players who want to play Omaha). The play money tables here will also be useful to those who are learning - get to grips with your game for free and then proceed to play with real money from $0.02/0.05 right up to $200/400.
